The Introduction and First Thoughts

Okay, so here am I starting the thing I've wanted to do last couple months but been too lazy to start it, all it neede was a little help from my pal Heka, or Joonas as most people call him. We just created this blog half an hour ago and Heka is probably doing his own introduction this very moment. About the blog... the title tells a lot itself. We just write about all random stuff we see in our daily life. Arts (especially music) , stuff happening on weekends and also other bizarre and cool things we find will have the main focus on this blog, so prepare yourself for some pretty damn weird shit.

I'm 20 yeard old lad named Samppa from Helsinki Metro area, Finland. I guarantee you my blogs will have some very, very random stuff that I (and probably only I) find interesting. Music is also a very important thing in my life so I try to have something about music in my every text. Photographing has also interested my for a long time so pictures (Hopefully also pictures that are not only blurred drunk pics from the weekends) will play a significant part in this blog. Well, those are for starters...let's get down to business.


I see the Academy Awards were held couple days ago, didn't really pay attention. The late Heath Ledger got his award, can't say if he really deserved it when it comes to pure acting, but as his legend is growing every day (...James Dean of our generation ??) with all the rumours him getting stuck to his role as the Joker, I really think that kind of a legend grown in less than a year deserves an Oscar. Other notes...hmmm...Slum Dog Millionaire got so many Oscars that maybe I should go and see my first Indian movie ever. The plot in the movie sounds a bit cheesy but something tell me that if a non-American gets 13 Oscar nomination (correct me if I'm wrong) it can't be "very cheesy" . One person who should've gotten an Oscar is John Malkovich for the role of Osbourne Cox in the movie "Burn after Reading" . The movie itself was "okay" but Osbourne Cox is just a brilliant character. I do not know anyone else saying WHAT THE FUCK in such a cool way. If I ever wanted to be a federal agent, I would be just as irritating and arrogant as Osbourne Cox. I really wish they had "The Best Character" award in the Oscars, so many great characters in the movies I've seen lately. If you like hilarious yet ingeniously built character, check out Guy Ritchie movies such as his newest film Rock n Rolla i - it's full of them.

Last but not least, some quick words abotut music. A good weekend coming up. Top Billin' at Redrum, I bet it's gonna be pretty pretty nice party. Damn Seagulls is also performing one of their first gigs with their new album at Virgin Oil Co. Too bad I can't afford to go to either of them. As you might've noticed, I listen very differend kinds of music. Mostly I listen indie rock, indie disco (yeah...I do not like calling it new rave 'cause it ain't it), prog and some other rock. I listen also particular artist from a lot of other genres but I shall not name all of them (trust me there's load of them) . So if you're band plays good music and you're playing a gig in Helsinki, get me some tickets and you'll be sure you'll be in my next blog (I underline. ONLY if you play GOOD music :D)
