Some other notes from last week :
- The fellow blog writer Joonas told me about this new Clint Eastwood movie Gran Torino where he's being as badass as ever beating up and out-cooling people (eventhough he's almost 80 years old). So fuck Chuck Norris, Jack Bauer, etc. Clint's da man.
- If you like good mash up remixes and hip hop / classic hit dj sets. Check out Redrum (in Helsinki, FIN) this thursday. The world-famous dj Girl Talk (USA) is playing in Misf*ts club in Redrum this thursday. Should be a damn good party.
- Another great internet site found. Flickr is a site where you can upload your pictures (even the ones with higher quality) and organize them nicely and easily. However the best part in my opinion is the ability to just choose certain colours and the search machine will find pictures with the colours you like. An easy and good way to find some aesthetics to...well whatever you need it for.
I've been to movies quite few times lately, three times this month. As all you know the trailers before the actual movie have always these pompous songs to hype the movie. Anyways, I've been listening lately a lot of these movie theme songs and other powerful and pompous stuff (and by that I don't mean death metal) . You just gotta love the powerful orchestra sounds in these songs. Listening these songs makes my mind wander and actually some of 'em give these nice scary chills. Okay, listening to this Saw theme song in the middle of the night is making things pretty scary over here so here's this week's special playlist :
Week's Pompous and Powerful Playlist # 4
- Charlie Clouser - Hello Zepp (Saw theme, also used in Operation valkyrie)
- Wim Mertens - Struggle for Pleasure
- Hans Zimmer - Drink Up Me Hearties (The Pirates of Carribean)
- The Bloody Beetroots - Butter (check this out. some scary shit)
- Justice - Genesis
So there's some mighty sounds for you all. I'm sure you know some or most of them but if you got that nostalgic feeling be sure to listen to those songs. For this time, I have a perfect ending song, the king of all pompous songs - Ennio Morricone's "The Ecstacy of Gold" . Just gotta love it, a great movie and even better song.
So that's all. Until next time
- Samppa
