So, I was watching these old school extreme sports videos the other day when I got introduced to this, apparently a 80's extreme sports spectacle called 'Apocalypse Snow'. It's a movie trilogy (I will tell you about the first and the most famous part) filmed by a Frenchman Didier Lafond, and contains all kinds of crazy 80's extreme snow sports, such as American football-bobsledding. The film has of course a lot of traditional slope sports such as snowboarding and skiing, and of course the 80's own mono-skiing. The film contains a lot of aerial extreme stuff, and some of that is pretty amazing even compared to the stuff they do nowadays. The direction in the movie is awesome as this extreme movie has an actual plot (watch the movie and you'll see how amazing it is) . Of course the filming in the movie is also great, and you can definetely see that they had quite a budget making this film. However, what makes this movie so great is the über 80'sness of the movie that makes is funny and retro psychedelicly cool the same time. The plot and the wacky old school extreme sports add nice comedy to the film, whereas the psychedelic songs, the 80's atmosphere and the amazing filming makes the movie not to be 'just a funny 80's movie' . Here's a teaser from the whole Apocalypse Snow trilogy, I strongly recommend watching it if you get a chance.
To the other fields of my interest, have you noticed that only thing rappers rap nowadays is meaningless and uninteresting stuff like who's got the most expensive gold teeth or the heaviest necklace. Especially rappers from the South (of the United States) seem only have such topics for their songs as jewelery, chrome rims or expensive haircuts. Not to point a finger but I wonder if DJ Khaled or Rick Ross can rap/sing about anything else than the toys they have. Maybe the worst part is that they seemingly think it's trendy to waste money (I just couple days ago heard this DJ Khaled song in which he repeatedly yelled 'Young Money !') . I wonder if they're still gonna be yelling 'young money' when their records are not selling anymore and they're having these 7-digit debts to take care of.
Better were the old days. Legends such as Wu Tang rapping in 10 dollar sweat suits and still doing it 100 times better than these today's 'rappers' . Today the songs are about expensive clothes and shiny cars, back in the old days they actually had a message. And I don't say they coulnd't make positive songs then, the good ol' 90's positively chilling rap songs beat these disco/club anthems the rappers are doing nowadays anytime. So here's my new playlist that is all about the good rap vibes from the old days. Peace out.
